LARGAN, a Taiwanese optical lens manufacturer known for its collaborations with Apple and Tesla, has also been investing in sleep healthcare for more than a decade. They have introduced a compact, medical-grade ECG (electrocardiogram) device as an alternative to conventional in-lab sleep studies, which are uncomfortable and often involve long waiting periods. With this device, anyone can conduct a highly precise sleep study from the comfort of their home. I have been responsible for the branding and UI/UX aspects of the product, which includes naming, logo design, app development, and the design of the charging case.
I particularly enjoy words that have similar sounds and meanings in different languages. It’s like finding the holy grail for translators. I believe I’ve achieved it with this one. The Taiwanese characters even mean “sleep” in Japanese, which is a delightful coincidence.
