I made this pair of Japanese wooden sandals at a plywood moulding workshop. I took inspiration from the  Okobo sandals (ぽっくり下駄) , that Geisha apprentices wear. They are normally made from whole blocks of wood, I thought it would be interesting to make them in the reversed way. The girls dance in those sandals, this lead me to add bells to them.
